Chris MacDonell received Distinguished Member Award and Fellow of ACRM designation
October 31, 2014, Tucson, Arizona— The American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) awarded Chris MacDonell, CARF International's managing director of medical rehabilitation and international aging services/medical rehabilitation, with two prestigious distinctions earlier this month at the 2014 ACRM Annual Conference in Toronto, Ontario. Ms. MacDonell was presented with a 2014 Distinguished Member Award and named a 2014 Fellow of ACRM.
The Distinguished Member Award was established in 1988 to honor ACRM members who significantly contribute to the development and functioning of ACRM. The Fellow of ACRM distinction is granted to members who not only demonstrate outstanding professional service to ACRM, but also make contributions of national significance to the field of medical rehabilitation. In a statement about the honors, ACRM said, in part, "Chris has represented CARF at international, national, regional, and local meetings to promote and interpret standards and the use of accreditation as a quality business and clinical strategy throughout the continuum of care. Chris is very actively involved with ACRM communities and co-chairs the Marketing and Outreach Task Force of the International Networking Group."
Ms. MacDonell said of the recognitions, "It is an honor to be recognized by peers and leaders in the field of rehabilitation as both a Fellow of the ACRM and as the Distinguished Member of ACRM for 2014. ACRM is a member of CARF's International Advisory Council (IAC) and represents many of the medical rehabilitation areas we accredit, including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord, neuromuscular disease, pain, cancer rehabilitation, and pediatrics. Many of CARF's accredited providers and surveyors are active in ACRM. These awards bring recognition to all of us at CARF since we all contribute to our mission of enhancing the lives of those served in our respective fields. Thank you to each of you for the work that you do!"
Ms. MacDonell has more than 35 years of experience in the human services field, and almost 25 years at CARF International.
