CARF staff member and
former surveyor brings 25 years in the rehabilitation field

1, 2013, Tucson, Arizona -- CARF International President/CEO Brian J. Boon,
Ph.D., announced that Pete Hathaway has accepted an appointment as the managing
director of CARF International's Employment and Community Services (ECS) accreditation
area beginning today.
Well
known in the rehabilitation field, Hathaway has been a CARF resource specialist
since 2006 and a frequent presenter at CARF's educational events. Before
joining CARF as a full-time staff member, Hathaway served as a CARF surveyor
for 11 years and worked at CARF-accredited organizations for 17 years.
During
his years of service, Hathaway has managed community-based services for adults
and children with disabilities and their families. He also has been a contract
manager for a state governmental agency.
"All
of these experiences provide Pete with an excellent foundation to represent
CARF to its current and future customers, consumers and their advocates,
regulators, and payers," Boon said.
As
managing director, Hathaway will be responsible for planning and executing CARF's
strategic business activities related to standards development and
accreditation growth in the ECS accreditation area. He will conduct in-depth
research and analysis of market data and deliver presentations on the CARF
standards, accreditation process, and marketing trends to decision makers. He
will also represent CARF at industry associations, conferences, and symposia.
Hathaway
said, "I look forward to working with accredited organizations, surveyors,
funders of services, and other stakeholders to find creative ways to meet the
needs of persons with disabilities and their families."
CARF
International is a nonprofit accreditor that has been accrediting health and
human services since 1966. CARF-accredited employment and community services
